FAQ: Adoptables
What are adoptables?
The 'adoptables' you are seeing in this group are mostly animal, hybrid and human designs artists use as personas or characters. They have no physical presence. They are mainly artistic designs of all sorts sold for points (a strictly dA resource), trade or real cash.
How do I sell them? What are the rules for adoptables?
The designs sold are like selling pieces of artwork - they have to be one of a kind and not a copy of someone else's design. If you sell a design that is (or is almost like) somebody else's design, you can get banned from dA for art theft.
To sell an adoptable, it has to be a design you made that you are willing to sell to someone else for the trade of your choice. You can trade it for one of their adoptables, sell it to them for points/money or even give it away for free. You may do this as long as you made the design, and are willing to not use it as your own once it is sold.
What are eggs/hatchables? super-adoptables.deviantart.co…
Eggs, or hatchables, are previews of designs. They can come in any kind of form, and once you claim it the creator of the egg will either give you the rights to the design (meaning you have to finish the design yourself) or creates the rest of the design for you.
What are auctions? super-adoptables.deviantart.co…
Auctions for designs are just like auctions anywhere else. You either bid points or money for the design. When you put in a bidding price, other people are still allowed to bid on it until it is closed. If you have won the auction, you send the points/money to the artist that created the auction. If you lost, the design is not yours.
What are customs?
Customs are custom designs that you request/buy from other adoptable makers. This means, you give them a clear idea of what you want and they will design it for you.
What is line art? super-adoptables.deviantart.co…
Line art is the outlines of an animal, person or thing that does not have a design yet. It is usually transparent or has a white background. If it is free to use by the artist this means you may use it as a template for your own adoptables as long as you give them proper credit.
What are breedables? super-adoptables.deviantart.co…
Breedables are two designs mixed together into a different character. They generally are of two characters owned by the seller, but can sometimes be a mixture of one of your requested designs with one of their breedables. You may only breed a design with a breedable if the design is owned by you - if the design you chose isn't owned by you, it can be considered stealing or even art theft.
What are raffles? super-adoptables.deviantart.co…
Raffles are a new kind of concept - they can be done many different ways. For instance, an artist makes a design and puts it up for raffle. In order to enter this raffle, you have to leave a comment featuring why you want it, what you would name it, etc. Sometimes you don't even have to write down that information, you just simply have to say "I want to enter!"
What are makers? Why are good designs made on these games sold for so cheap? super-adoptables.deviantart.co…
Maker games (ex: Puppy Maker, Kitten Maker, etc.) Are flash games created by people where you can chose different markings and colours for a character. Some of these games even randomize the design so you don't have to click through tons of different markings and colours. THIS IS THE EXACT REASON WHY THEY ARE SOLD SO CHEAP. They don't have much thought put into them, and most of the time characters made on these games are easy to spot, even when drawn. To add to this, the creators of these flash games may not want you to sell these characters. Be careful to read up the rules before selling characters off of these flash games, or you might be at risk of being banned.

Still Looking For New Contributors!
Hello everyone!
I am seeking a few new admins willing to help keep our folders clean as well as accept/deny submissions. Lately we have been getting backed up with requests and need more hands on deck!
With this position, you will be volunteering a little bit of time each day to accepting and denying submissions. You may also clean the folders by deleting any submissions with "CLOSED" in the title.
A few things you should know:
-Submissions are not allowed to the featured folder unless it is a deviation with a single character up for adoption. You are allowed to move older single adoptables to the featured folder as you are cleaning folders
Folder Organization
So it has come to our attention that the folder organization might not be too clear, and there is no recent journal breaking down how they are organized so it's clear where to submit your adoptables. Most folders have brief descriptions within the folder themselves, but this can be more difficult to navigate, so it will all be right here! This journal should hopefully make it easier, and we will be linking it to confused deviants to help you all figure out where to submit your adoptables, if they're submitted to the incorrect folder.
Featured: This folder is for single adoptables that may have been around for a while, either already in the g
FAQ- Why was my submission declined?
Hello everyone!
Running an adoptable group, especially a rather large one such as this, can be a challenge.
Sifting through submissions is time consuming, even tedious at times.
We must decide which deviations to add to the group and which to deny.
Here are some reasons your submission may have been denied:
Wrong folder
-The deviation in question was simply submitted to the wrong folder.
Most common scenarios
-The most common problem is people trying to submit fandom-related adoptables to any folder other than the "Series-Based Designs" folder. ANY DESIGN RELATED TO ANY FANDOM (ex. a My Little Pony style pony, a Saiyan/Namekian/etc., Pokemo
